ABK And A Backpack

Adorable, isn't he? A couple weeks ago, he showed up at the door. Another dumped kitten. He's stuck around, so this week, he went to the vet, got a clean bill of health and his shots and presently, he's terrorizing the other two indoor cats on a minute to minute basis. He's unnamed as of yet, but ABK (Adorable Baby Kitten) seems to get his attention. Problem being, he won't be adorable or baby or kitten for long, as he's already around 12 weeks.

Precioso, no? Apareció en la puerta hace dos semanas, otro gatito abandonado. Se quedó, asi que esta semana ha ido al veterinario, tiene sus vacunas y está más sano que una manzana. Su trabajo: aterrorizar a los otros dos cada minuto del dia. No tiene nombre, pero de momento responde a ABK (bebé gatito adorable). El problema, no va a quedarse bebé ni adorable ni gatito mucho tiempo. Tiene ya unas 12 semanas, según el veterinario.

And since it is still too hot to sit and quilt, I made a backpack with fabric I received as a Christmas gift from Paula. The pattern is a freebie from P&B Textiles. Cute as a kitten, isn't it? I used fabrics I already had and it turned out pretty well. The pattern is easy and the results, worth the effort. Had I thought of it, I would have added a short handle between the two long straps, but still, it's going to be a handy bag.

Y como aún hace demasiado calor para sentarse a acolchar, hice una mochila con tela que recibí como regalo de navidad de Paula, con gatitos. El patrón es gratis, de P&B Textiles. Tan mona como el gatito, no? Usé telas que tenía y el resultado me encanta. El patrón es fácil y me salió bastante bien, creo yo. Si lo hubiese pensado, le hubiese puesto otra asa corta para llevar en la mano, pero aún sin ella, ha quedado muy graciosa.
