The Lives And Times Of A Quilter's Cats

Random thoughts of three or four cats and I about the importance of wearing slippers if you happen to share your home with a quiltmaker who drops pins, and other similar and related nonsense, from fabric to gardening and of course, about the cats who inspire all this madness. En inglés y en español.

Take Time To Smell The Flowers

How doth the little busy Bee
Improve each shinning Hour,
And gather Honey all the day!
From every opening Flower!

Pink In Spring

It's done! As of this afternoon, the binding is finished, it's been washed and dried and it just needs a label. The technical details: machine pieced, hand quilted, 64" x 64" (it shrunk a lot with the heavy quilting and the wash). One of the red fabrics did run a little, in spite of being prewashed, but it's not very noticeable.

Acabado!

Three Cheers For Spring!!!

Slowly but surely, things start greening up. It's really hard to describe how thrilling it is, after months and months of grey, snow and bare dirt, to see green leaves, sprouts, and the first blooms of the season.

The last four days have been glorious. Blue skies, temperatures nice enough to wear short sleeved shirts (ok, picture not wearing them since October, that might just get anyone happy). I've spent as much time as I have been able to out of doors, just enjoying the feeling of warmth and the light. One craves it, after all the winter months. The worst part of winter here, worse even than being cold, is the lack of sunlight.
